Panchakarma Divine Healing

Divine Panchakarma Energy Healing System©

Ayurvedic medicine began in India where it is said that Dhanvantari (or Dhanvantri), the Lord of Ayurvedic Medicine, brought this knowledge out from the eternal field of Pure Consciousness which is the unmanifest Source of all life.  Later, Charaka, an Ayurveda Physician born around BC 300 added his own easy-to-understand compilation of Agnivesa Samhita and named it the Charaka Samhita, which is often considered to be the encyclopedia of Ayurveda. Because of his efforts, he is sometimes referred to as the Father of Indian Medicine.

The Ayurvedic Health System of India lays out a whole system of very pleasant and effective guidelines and therapies to cleanse, heal and restore the human body to the best possible health in very natural and holistic ways. The therapeutic and cleansing portion of this knowledge is known as the “Panchakarma” system of therapies. This is a truly wonderful system which can provide amazing results when provided by trained and certified Ayurvedic Doctors and staff; however, it is also very time and labor intensive which makes it very expensive. If you have 2-4 weeks of time and $5-10,000 I highly recommend it.

If, on the other hand, you don’t feel like spending that much time and money to get amazing results, then Divine Mother, Dhanvantari (the Divine founder of all Ayurvedic medicine), and many healing angels and healing devas have just brought out a “Divine Energy form of Panchakarma” on June 17, 2019.

As far as I know, Panchakarma as a Divine Healing Energy System is totally new on the planet, perhaps because the frequency and consciousness of the planet has risen to the point where it is finally possible to offer this.  The effectiveness of this System of Divine Energies and the Divine Beings behind them is beyond anything we could have imagined before. It cleans, purifies and heals from the deepest levels of the body, mind, and soul from the inside out.

Now this is where I have to state clearly that I am not a medical doctor, nurse or certified medical practitioner and cannot predict or promise any particular results; however, I am a certified teacher of Transcendental Meditation since 1971 and also an instructor of the Seraphim Blueprint Healing System since the mid 2000’s. I’m also trained in Reiki, Chi Gong, Pranic Healing, Jyoti Atman, Yoga, Pranayama, and other techniques. More recently I’ve been receiving Divine Energies directly from Divine Mother/ Divine Father/ True Source God/ the Seraphim Angels, etc. but there is no human or organization who is qualified to certify these gifts. These are spiritual energies and are not in the realm of most western medicine and pharmacology.  We cannot and do not claim to heal anything; therefore, each person should definitely continue to follow the guidance of their medical providers as needed. There is no conflict between the two different schools, AMA and Spiritual, and these Divine Energies will greatly support any other healing modality a person chooses to utilize.  Testimonials are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Divine Panchakarma Energies and John Chandler are not responsible for any of these testimonies. They are not the opinion of John Chandler but are individual customer’s personal experiences and product use. Individual results may vary.

The fundamental premise of Ayurvedic Medicine is that if all the different aspects of the human physiology and psychology are clean, stress free, and in harmony with each other, then perfect health is possible.  It’s only when the system is out of balance, energy is blocked, negative energy is dominant, nutrition is lacking, the psychology is stressed, etc. does disease arise (dis-ease).  Ayurvedic Medicine and has proven itself over thousands of years in India, and more recently around the world, to be very effective in re-establishing and maintaining a state of ideal balance within the various human systems, and the Panchakarma Therapies are an integral part of that process.  This new system of Divine Panchakarma Energies now takes it to a new level.

The Principles of the Doshas:

Like all the healing traditions of the East, Ayurveda sees the physical world—including the body—as made up of energy. Ayurveda assigns all matter-energy interactions in the world to a scheme of five primal elements: earth, water, fire, air, and ether.

The five elements are further condensed into three primal metabolic and subtle energy forces in the human body, called doshas, and all areas and functions of the body fit into these dosha categories, or a mixture thereof. The mix of these three master forces or doshas, Vata, Pitta and Kapha, is responsible for promoting and sustaining balance in the daily and lifelong health of the individual.  Ayurveda defines one cause of disease, or “dis-ease”, as an imbalance in the doshas and the build up of toxins and ama (waste products) in the body.

Ayurveda’s Definition of Health is: “sama dosha sama agnischa sama dhatu mala kriyaaha| Prasanna atma indriya manaha swastha iti abhidheeyate” || from the Sushruta Samhita

The abovementioned phrase means: One is in perfect health when the Three doshas (vata, pitta and Kapha), Digestive fire (digestion, assimilation and metabolism), all the body tissues & components (Dhatus), (the entire physical body), all the excretory functions (the physiological functions of urination and defecation), are in perfect order and balance with a pleasantly disposed and contented mind, senses and spirit.

The Vata dosha is made up of the air and ether elements which are dry, cold, light, and irregular. It maintains movement in the mind and body, such as respiration and joint mobility. It is catabolic (eliminative) in function. Vata predominates in the large intestine and in the joints.  It controls blood flow, elimination of wastes, breathing and the movement of thoughts across the mind.  Since Pitta and Kapha cannot move without it, Vata is considered the leader of the three Ayurvedic Principles in the body. It’s very important to keep Vata in good balance.

Vata people’s bodies tend to be light, their bones thin, and their skin and hair dry. They often move and speak quickly. When out of balance, they may lose weight, become constipated and have weakness in their immune and nervous systems.  These qualities also reflect in their personality. Those with a vata nature tend to be talkative, enthusiastic, creative, flexible, and energetic. Yet, when out of balance they may also become easily confused and overwhelmed, have difficulty focusing and making decisions and have trouble sleeping. This becomes more apparent when they are under stress. Emotionally they are challenged by cool emotions like worry, fear, and anxiety.

The Pitta dosha is made up of the fire and water elements which make it hot, sharp, wet, oily, light and intense and penetrating. It is metabolic (tissue fueling) in function. Pitta predominates in the small intestine, the most intense region in the body, with the highest metabolic rate.  Ayurveda says that bile is the most concentrated essence of pitta. The stomach acid is also a site of pitta. Pitta maintains the digestive and glandular secretions, body heat, and metabolism, including digestive enzymes and bile.  They tend to feel warm and have somewhat oily skin, penetrating eyes, and sharp features. They tend to have moderate weights and good musculature. When out of balance they tend toward diarrhea, infections, skin rashes and weakness in the liver, spleen, and blood.  Pitta people tend to be highly focused, competitive, capable, courageous, energetic and clear communicators who get right to the point. They like to solve problems and when under stress they dig in their heels. They can however also become overly intense and speak with a sharp tongue. They make great friends but feared enemies. Emotionally they are challenged by the heated emotions of anger, resentment and jealousy.

The Kapha dosha is cold, wet, oily, heavy, slow and stable, and manifests those qualities in the body. It is anabolic (tissue building) in function. This energy often predominates in the chest and stomach. Kapha also maintains structure, solidity, and lubrication in the body, forming connective and musculoskeletal tissues.  Within the kapha dosha there is a predominance of the water and earth elements. Like these elements, kapha tends to be cool, moist, stable and heavy. In the body these qualities manifest as dense, heavy bones, lustrous, supple skin, low metabolism, and large, stocky frames. In addition, those with a kapha nature tend to feel cool. When out of balance, kapha individuals are prone to gaining weight and tend to have weaknesses in their lungs and sinuses where there is an accumulation of mucous. Those of kapha nature are also most prone to non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus.

The elements of water and earth also reflect in the personality. The heavy, stable nature of kapha reflects in a stable personality which is not prone to quick fluctuations. Those with a kapha nature handle stress very well, often not even noticing that it exists. They don’t like change, are generally conservative, and would prefer to keep things just the way they are. Those with a kapha nature are also comfort seekers. This relates to the soft, watery nature of kapha. Too much comfort, however, can lead to a lack of motivation and feeling of becoming stuck. When kapha is out of balance, the heavy emotions of depression and lethargy result.

From the Ayurvedic point of view, all functions occurring in your body at any moment are a result of the mixture of the three doshas. Every single action affects their balance. They are ebbing or flowing in the body at any given time.  Because we all have a different optimal balance of the doshas, Ayurveda shows that the path to optimal health is different for each person depending upon their constitution.  We must remember that we are all a combination of the three doshic energies in different ratios.

Using this New Divine Energy of Panchakarma

Allow the energies to do their work without using your mind, intellect or ego to try and control or direct them, and do not try to “improve” them by adding other energies you may have learned.  These are Divine Energies with Divine Intelligence behind them, so just keep your attention lightly on the fact that you’re running each energy and let it do what it needs to do.  You’ll be surprised at how it might move around doing various things that you couldn’t even know of.  We keep our attention or intention lightly with the energy and do not drift off daydreaming or thinking about work, etc., but we do Not Concentrate on the energy or try to control it because that will just restrict it.  It’s just a light awareness of it, and then flow with it.  If you have a specific health problem you want to address, then after you’ve run the energies for a while, you can add the intention that the energies focus more on the specific problem area by directing your attention to the problem area as you run the energy, but there again, once you direct it to an area or problem, let it do what it needs to do without interference.  The Divine Intelligence of these energies is far beyond anything we can comprehend, so let them do their work.  Your job is simply to be the connection or conduit for the Divine Panchakarma Energies to work through and don’t let your ego get in the way.

The experience of these energies is very different from any other energy you may have worked with.  Think in terms of being in a cosmic health spa receiving soft, loving and gentle therapies rather than lightning from the gods, but the results you receive may be much more than you ever imagined.

This new Divine Energy application of Ayurvedic knowledge was recently created jointly by Divine Mother, Dhanvantari, several Healing Devas and Healing Angels, and then Charaka joined in more recently.  Therefore, when we run these energies, it’s good to start by calling in Divine Mother, Dhanvantari, the Healing Angels, Healing Masters, and Charaka to assist you.  You can also ask Divine Mother to work with the Lords of Karma and the Planetary Jyotish Devas to remove the patient’s karma on all levels that is related in any way to this disease or problem, and also to remove and heal any “death wish” or feelings of “unworthiness of good health”, conscious or unconscious.

It is a common courtesy to call on these Divine Beings and they can help a lot.  Also, since these are newly created energies and have never been offered before on Earth, the Divine Beings want to observe how it works on different people so they can adjust, tweak or improve it as needed.  So we begin by inviting them in and saying:

  • “Dear Divine Mother, who comes in the name of Truth, Wholeness, Love, Compassion and Totality please be with us now.”
  • “Dear Dhanvantari, who comes in the name of Truth, Love, Wisdom, and the Total Knowledge of Ayurveda and Perfect Health on all levels and systems please be with us now.”
  • “Dear Master Healing Angels and Devas, who come in the name of Truth, Love, Compassion and the Knowledge of perfect health, please be with us now.”
  • “Dear Charaka, who comes in the name of Truth, Love, and a complete Knowledge of Ayurveda and Panchakarma please be with us now.”
  • “Dear Divine Mother” please work with the Lords of Karma and the Planetary Jyotish Devas to remove all of the karma related to these problems and diseases on every level, and please remove and heal any ‘death wish’ or ‘feelings of unworthiness of good health’ that may exist in these recipients on all levels.”

Note that these energies may feel gentler than some other Divine Energies that you’re used to, so we should think of this as being like a luxurious health spa where we’re receiving various massage treatments.  Even though the energies may not feel as intense as some others, they’re actually very powerful and run on a very deep level in the body bringing about purification that is hard to do with traditional physical treatments.

“We begin with running #1, the “Divine Panchakarma Energy of Total System” for ( name ) to completely and permanently heal them of all diseases and poor health.”

(Then for the 2nd through 15th energies say, “We now run the Divine PanchaKarma Energy of Abhyanga”, and so forth on down the list)

  1. Total System – is the complete system to detox, cleanse, clear and balance all areas and levels of the body.  Panchakarma is Ayurveda’s 5000 year old system of detoxification and rejuvenation.  It strengthens the immune system, and restores a person’s natural rhythms. It recreates balance within the body that helps the body speak to itself again which is very important in achieving optimal health.
  2. Abhyanga – herbalized oil massage of the whole body to break up impurities, stimulate blood and lymphatic circulation, and remove toxins.  This can result in increased circulation, especially to nerve endings, toning of the muscles, calming the nervous system, lubrication of the joints, increased mental alertness, improved elimination of toxins, softer smoother skin, increased stamina, and better sleep.
    1. Pizhichili (a stronger version of Abhyanga) In this treatment, lukewarm herbal oils are applied all over the body by two to four trained therapists in a special rhythmic way, continuously for about 45 to 60 minutes per day for a period of 7 to 21 days. The word Pizhichili language literally means “squeezing”. Here the whole body is bathed in streams of lukewarm medicated oil with simultaneous soft or firm massage. This treatment is done on a special table made from a single piece of strychnosNuxvomica wood. This treatment is very useful for rheumatic diseases like arthritis, paralysis, Parkinson, sexual weakness, nervous weakness and nervous disorders etc.
    2. Udvartana – A deeply penetrating herbal paste lymphatic massage. This powerful exfoliating treatment will magically restore your natural radiance. It conditions the skin while releasing stagnant lymphatic toxins from the body.
    3. Garshana – A dry lymphatic skin brushing with either a wool or silk glove done by 2 technicians. This enhances circulation and cleanses the skin so that subsequent oil and herbal treatments can penetrate deeply into freshly cleansed pores.
  3. Shirodhara – warm herbalized oil is poured on the forehead, the third eye and the top of the head, which synchronizes brain waves, calms the mind, body, and spirit.  The brow and third eye center are associated with the fundamental endocrine glands (pituitary, pineal & hypothalamus), which regulate all hormonal secretions. These hormonal secretions are responsible not only for the autonomic responses which control digestion, breathe, elimination, etc., but are also responsible for our moods and emotional states.  Shirodhara can help relieve symptoms of anxiety, stress, fatigue and hypertension.  It also relieves tension, worry, fear and headache, as well as depression.  It regulates mood and gives feelings of pleasure and relaxation.
    1. Shiro Basti – a variation of Shirodhara is to use chickpea dough to create a dam around the top of the head and then fill it with sesame oil and let it sit there for a while to help remove excess Vata from the head.  The same process can be used on different areas of the body.
  4. Swedena – herbalized steam bath, where the head and heart are kept cool, while the rest of body is heated up to remove mental, emotional and physical toxins.  It is said to help relieve stiffness in the body and joints.  It relieves heaviness, removes toxins by sweating, improves digestion, clears the skin, and removes bodily pains.
    1. Pinda Swedana – A deep cleansing treatment using rice cooked in milk and herbs that is wrapped up in cloth and the ends are tied up to make a ball and is then used massage the mixture into the tissues and joints. The treatment is deeply relaxing and rejuvenating as well as powerfully detoxifying.
  5. Netra Tarpana (aka: Akshi Tarpana)- Chickpea dough is built up around the eyes to create pools, and then warm ghee (clarified butter) is poured into the pools until it covers the eyes in order to cleanse, balance, lubricate and restore the eyesight, on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels.  It is said to help with dry eyes, painful and burning eyes, infections, computer vision syndrome, glaucoma, and eye injuries.
  6. Karana Purana – Ear Oiling – The ears are a main site of Vata. Vata is governed by air and ether. This means cold, dry winds, busy, non-stop lifestyles, etc. are a constant stimulation to the ears. This affects the ears and the entire flow of Vata in the body. Symptoms that are common like tinnitus and earaches could be simply alleviated and preventable through the use of routine therapies to nourish these senses.  Warm oil or medicated liquid is poured into the ears which is protective to the nervous system. Especially recommended during Vata season, a time of regular exposure to cold and wind, and therefore it is usually performed during autumn, winter and early spring, calming the nervous system and overactive mind. When a client’s ears are bathed in oil, the mind and body automatically calms, creating a state of deep relaxation. In the Ayurvedic system, the ears and eyes are connected with the sole of the foot. The application of oil in the ears produces a cooling effect which eliminates the sensation of burning to the feet. Specific problems for which karana purana is administered include excess earwax, earache, headache, neck pain, and jaw pain, tinnitus, and impaired hearing due to wax blockages and impurities in the ear canal. This treatment is also used for most Vata disorders relating to bodily aches and pains.
  7. Nasya – herbalized oil drops are poured up both nostrils to clear the sinuses, brain, throat and respiratory system.  The nose is the doorway to the brain and it is also the doorway to consciousness. The nasal administration of medication is called nasya. An excess of bodily humors accumulated in the sinus, throat, nose or head areas is eliminated by means of the nearest possible opening, the nose.   Prana, life force as nerve energy, enters the body through the breath taken in through the nose. Prana is in the brain and maintains sensory and motor functions. Prana also governs mental activities, memory, concentration and intellectual activities. Deranged prana creates defective functioning of all these activities and produces headaches, convulsions, loss of memory and reduced sensory perception. Thus nasal administration, nasya, is indicated for prana disorders, sinus congestion, migraine headaches, convulsions and certain eye and ear problems.
  8. Ghandusha or Kaval Graha – Oil Pulling Mouth Wash – herbalized oil is used in the mouth to pull out toxins from the gums, teeth, sockets, jaw bone, the tongue, roof of the mouth, back of the throat, and it can even remove negative emotions expressed through speech.  Ghandusha is where you keep the oil in your mouth for two to three minutes and then you spit it out. In the other method called Kaval Graha, the oil is gently revolved around in the mouth for 15 to 20 minutes till it becomes thin and whitish in color and then expelled. Then the teeth, gums and tongue are rinsed with salt water. This can be followed by brushing and flossing as you normally would. The oil is never swallowed. The best time to perform it is in the morning before breakfast. It is to be practiced an empty stomach, one to three times in a day.  The oil in kept in mouth till you start sweating slightly which is a sign of toxins being released from your body. You may also experience watery eyes and some discharge from the nose as your mouth and throat are being cleansed. The oil acts as natural mouthwash or disinfectant and helps in removing stains, smoothening and cleaning your teeth. It strengthens your gums and teeth and makes it easier to remove plaque. Plaque is made up of colonized bacteria that are surrounded by fatty membranes. They are fat-soluble and may loosen up while swishing around the oil.  Ayurveda advises oil gargling to purify the entire system; as it holds that each section of the tongue is connected to different organ such as to the kidneys, lungs, liver, heart, small intestines, stomach, colon, and spine
  9. Vamana – Therapeutic Vomiting may be used when there is congestion in the lungs causing repeated attacks of bronchitis, colds, cough or asthma.  Vamana can eliminate the kapha causing the excess mucus. Often this also releases repressed emotions that have been held in the kapha areas of the lungs and stomach along with the accumulated kapha dosha. Emotions stored in kapha areas can lead to weight gain, and this energy may help release these emotions and the related excess weight.  Please understand that you may feel some nausea or even vomit as your body clears out these toxins.  This is a very effective and fast way to remove the toxins and emotions from the body.
  10. Virechana – Purgation – When excess bile, or pitta, is secreted and accumulated in the gall bladder, liver and small intestine, it tends to result in rashes, skin inflammation, acne, chronic attacks of fever, biliary vomiting, nausea and jaundice.  The treatment concentrates on the toxins that are accumulated in the liver and gall bladder.  The herbs used for the purgation therapy vitiate (aggravate) the doshas and bring them into the abdomen where the vitiated doshas are eliminated through the rectum.  Eliminating these excesses can bring balance and health to the skin and the entire body. This treatment is usually administered for three days after Vamana treatment, but its duration may vary from case to case.
  11.  Nabhi Chikitsa – A small amount of oil is placed in the navel and massaged around the inside of the navel, and then the area of the belly around it in a gentle rub and pinch type motion.  The philosophy of nabhi chikitsa tells us that the body’s center continues to serve as a foundation for balance in adulthood, because of its richness in blood vessels and pathways to the body’s extremities. The idea is that once inserted into the navel, oil is easily absorbed and effortlessly distributed throughout the body, thanks to through lines formed in its umbilical cord heyday, and has a positive effect on the skin and the face.
  12.  Rakta Moksha – Bloodletting (or Leeches).  Toxins present in the gastrointestinal tract can be re-absorbed into the blood and circulated throughout the body. This condition is called toxemia, which is often a basic cause of repeated infections, hypertension and certain other circulatory conditions. This includes repeated attacks of skin disorders such as urticaria, rashes, herpes, eczema, acne, scabies, leukoderma, chronic itching or hives. In such conditions, along with internal medication, elimination of the toxins and purification of the blood is necessary. Rakta moksha is also indicated for cases of enlarged liver, spleen and gout.   Leeches have been used as an alternative to bloodletting. A small amount of Bloodletting also stimulates the spleen to produce anti-toxic substances that help to stimulate the immune system. Toxins are neutralized which may help in many blood-borne disorders.
  13. Basti – is usually the final treatment where herbalized oil is used in a high enema that removes all the toxins and excess doshas that the other therapies have moved to the colon for elimination.  Vata is a very active principle in disease. Releasing excess vata through the use of basti can go a long way in going to the root cause of the vast majority of diseases. Vata is mainly located in the large intestine, but bone tissue is also a site for vata.  Do not be surprised if you notice some release of gas (vata) after running Basti, or that you have to make many extra trips to the toilette as the toxins and excess doshas are flushed from the body. This is a very effective and fast way to remove them from the body.
  14. Sama Dosha – Most people are a combination of the 3 doshas in mixed ratios, usually 1 or 2 doshas are dominant; however, a few fortunate people are evenly balanced between all 3.  This is called Sama Dosha and could be considered a desirable state to be in for overall balance.  We can use the Divine PK to move our system towards Sama Dosha by simply stating that intention after calling forth the Divine PK Energy.
  15. Perfection – The traditional Ayurvedic and Panchakarma therapies are designed to focus on restoring or maintaining perfect health; however, I’ve been told that this set of Divine Energies goes far beyond that to create total Perfection.  I argued that perfect health is perfection of the body, but was repeatedly told that this Perfection goes far beyond that, and that we will understand more as we use this system and this energy.  I have the feeling that Panchakarma – Perfection could be a total system by itself, so use it frequently.
  16. Direct PK with Intention or Imagination to specific areas of the body.  There are a couple of ways this can be done.
    1. Name the organ, system or place in the body that needs attention.  Then simply say Run “Divine Panchakarma” on my liver, or kidneys, or brain, or prostate, or knee joints, or upper neck, etc. and then let it do its thing.  Keep the intention in your awareness by relaxed internal repetition at comfortable intervals.
    2. Intend, imagine or visualize a big ball of “Divine Panchakarma Total System Energy” and then direct the ball to the area of your body that needs extra attention, but also be open to the possibility that the energy may flow to other areas as part of healing the chosen area since all parts of the body are interconnected and a problem or symptom in one area may actually be caused by or aggravated by toxins or imbalances in other areas.  Let the energy soak the desired area, and after several minutes allow the ball of PK energy to begin to expand more and more until it becomes a sphere completely enveloping the entire body so that every area of the body is now totally immersed in the Divine Panchakarma Energy.  When done, ask Divine Mother to release the sphere and the PK energy, or ask Her to maintain and adjust it as She feels is best for a specified amount of time, such as 1 hour or 1-2 days/weeks and then release it.
  17. Run Divine Energy of Amrit to move the system towards more perfect health and great longevity. Amrit and Soma are very beneficial for spiritual ascension.
  18. Run Divine Energy of Soma – Soma is the most refined product of perfect digestion.  It’s also a Divine Energy is often called the “nectar of the gods”.  This is very beneficial in balancing, healing and purifying the system and refining the perception of the senses.
  19. Run Divine Energy of Paladome to heal all illnesses and balance the doshas.  From wherever the energy enters the body, let it run down into the earth and then begin to fill the body back up from the feet up to the top of the head. Then let the energy to it’s healing work throughout the body for 10-15 minutes.
  1. Run Blue Rain with PK together to clear your emotions and consciousness, if you’ve taken the Blue Rain of Concentrated Divine Love Class.

This is a list of the energetic versions of Panchakarma that we recommend using in this new Divine Panchakarma Energy system; however, there other therapies as well that may get activated by the Panchakarma Divine Energy System and the Divine Healers, if and as needed.

In this Divine Panchakarma Energy Healing System, we’ve been given Divine Energies which appear to accomplish much of what the physical therapies do, without the need for all the oils, herbs, massage, enemas, or other stronger therapies.  It also seems that the Energy version can quickly go to very deep levels that would take much longer for the physical approach to reach, if at all.  However, there are certain things that the physical approach can do that the energetic version may not be able to.

With that being said, I truly feel that this new Divine Panchakarma Energy System is the next step in Ayurvedic healing, especially since it was created by Dhanvantari, the Divine Founder of Ayurvedic Medicine, several Master Angel and Deva Healers, and Charaka the Father of Ayurvedic Medicine, all under the guidance and infinite wisdom of Divine Mother.

This Energy System is brand new and therefore we are just beginning to experience all the amazing things it can do, so I’ll be adding more to this description as time goes on and as I get feedback from the early course participants.

Suggested Prerequisite: “Level One of the Seraphim Blueprint Healing System” is very beneficial to learn before taking these advanced courses because it opens up important primary energy pathways that benefit every area of our lives and spiritual practices: www.seraphimblueprint.com

The Doshas of Ayurveda

I’ve also added some Ayurvedic information below from Mark Bunn, a Western Ayurvedic researcher trained in Maharishi Ayurveda, that you might find useful.

Understand your Mind-Body Constitution (Body-Type) to know what diet, exercise, work, relationships and stress are right for you … and which are not!

Three people get stressed at work, one has a nervous breakdown, one has a heart attack and the other develops diabetes.

Why do three different people on the same exercise program get three completely different results?

Have you ever wondered why any of the millions of diets that have been invented, none ever work for everyone?

In fact, if you looked closely, you would find that any diet or exercise regime, works great for about one third of the population, is averagely successful for another third, and for the other third, they are downright damaging to one’s health.

Why is this so?

Because we are all DIFFERENT!!!

Now this is blatantly obvious, and you and everyone else already know that.

Strangely though, when it comes to diets, supplements, health and exercise programs, most people (and experts) tend to search for some universal remedy that is right for everyone. This is not wise!

What’s missing is a comprehensive system of understanding of how we are all different…and most importantly, what specific foods, exercise and daily/seasonal routines are right/balancing for each of us.

The ancient & eternal science of Ayurveda does just that, through its timeless understanding of what’s called ‘the doshas’.

* Mark’s training was in Maharishi AyurVeda

The Ayurvedic Doshas – The Missing Link to ‘Individualizing Health-Care’:

According to Ayurveda, each one of us is comprised of a unique mix of three mind/body principles which are responsible for our ‘unique’ physical, mental and emotional characteristics.

These doshas are the ‘governing principles’ of ‘Intelligence’ that literally govern everything in the universe…and therefore each one of us…including you!

Vata, Pitta & Kapha:

The three doshas are known as Vata, Pitta, & Kapha. Understand these three doshas and how to influence them and you literally hold the reins of life in your hand. As the doshas govern ‘everything’, if you know how to balance them, you can eliminate ill-health, create perfect balance and therefore enjoy ideal health…without any need for an ‘external expert, doctor, guru or anyone/anything outside your own ‘Self’.

How It All Works:

According to Ayurveda, everything is comprised of different proportions of five fundamental elements – space, air, fire, water and earth.

VATA – ‘AIRY (‘WINDY’):

Vata is dominantly expressed as ‘space and air’ and is responsible for all ‘communication and movement’.

It’s qualities are light, dry, changeable, quick, cold & subtle…like the ‘wind’.

PITTA – ‘FIERY’:

Pitta is dominantly expressed as fire and a little bit of water. Pitta governs all ‘energy and transformation’ in our bodies and the universe.

Its qualities are like fire – hot, intense, sharp, dynamic, sour/acidic, related to colour (red, orange, yellow etc).

KAPHA – ‘EARTHY’:

Kapha is dominantly expressed as water and earth. As such it is almost the exact opposite of Vata dosha. It is heavy, slow, non-changing, sweet and moist/unctuous/oilyKapha governs all ‘structure and lubrication’.

How Are You DIFFERENT/UNIQUE?

While each of us has some of each dosha (you couldn’t live without all the doshas being present), the proportion of the doshas in your ‘make-up’ will be different from those around you.

Your individual mix of doshas is called your ‘Prakriti’. It’s your individual/unique ‘mind-body’ make-up or constitution – your essential ‘Nature’ to be precise.

ARE YOU A VATA PREDOMINANT?

  • If you are dominated by vata, you will naturally,
  • be more light, quick, enthusiastic, fun
  • have a lighter/slimmer build
  • be more changeable, versatile and creative by nature
  • have a tendency towards dry hair, dry skin & light/interrupted sleep
  • have a delicate appetite/digestion that can be easily disturbed
  • love change and movement (travel, dancing…not sitting still!!!)
  • like to talk/communicate/express…chat, gossip etc!!!
  • get enthusiastic about new things but change your mind/mood easily
  • be a bit of a ‘daydreamer’, but also the ‘life of the party’.
  • You probably find it hard to gain weight, to sleep deeply, or to stick at the same thing for a long time.

You may have a tendency towards cracking joints, wind or bloating and you dislike cold or windy conditions.

Your work/vocation will likely involve being in something more creative or involving communication, travel (movement) or people – an artist, dancer, flight attendant, receptionist, entertainer, an ‘ideas person’ etc.

* I described the vata’s first, because otherwise they (‘you’) would have got bored and fluttered off to read something else!!!

ARE YOU PITTA PREDOMINANT?

If you are pitta predominant, you will naturally,

  • be more fiery, dynamic, focused, competitive
  • have a medium (possibly muscular) build
  • have blond/white, ruddy, golden, grey or receding hair
  • have a sharp mind and strong intellect
  • have skin that is generally more sensitive, maybe freckly and burns easily
  • have a strong appetite and digestive system – you love eating and get irritable/’angry’ if a meal is late
  • like order, systems and ‘having lists’!!!
  • be motivated, passionate and have strong drive about something
  • be more likely to get ulcers…and to give other people ulcers!!!
  • be a bit perfectionistic, be conscious of your image and have a ‘healthy ego’!!!
  • Your work/vocation will likely involve being a businessperson/entrepreneur, an athlete, self-employed, in something combative (police, army), highly intellectual (science, physics), sales/marketing, leadership, a ‘get the job done’ type role.

Sound like you? If so, that’s good, because pitta’s are the best!!! Well not really (no dosha is better than another), but if you’re pitta predominant you probably ‘think’ you’re better than everyone else!!!

ARE YOU KAPHA PREDOMINANT?

If you are dominated by kapha, you will naturally,

  • be sweet, dependable, earthy, stable & supportive
  • have a larger (more ‘cuddly’ build)
  • have large lustrous eyes, soft but possibly oily skin and thick hair
  • be down to earth and happy (slow to get stressed)
  • have a tendency towards excess mucous and congestion
  • be slow to start new things/get information, but once you start you have great endurance and rarely forget things
  • have a slower/heavier digestion
  • be well liked for your placid, sweet & supportive disposition
  • have a tendency to retain/hoard things – money, jobs, junk…weight (“I just look at a piece of cake and put on 2 kgs”)
  • Your work/vocation will likely involve being in something nourishing/supportive or requiring patience and thoroughness – a teacher/educator, a doctor/nurse, administrator, finance person (accountant, treasurer), support staff, laborer etc.

* Note – You Have All 3 Doshas:

It’s important to appreciate that you (or anyone) are not just one dosha, but a combination of all three. Most people have one or two doshas most dominant in their nature, with the other one(s) less prominent.

Where someone has equal amounts of all three doshas, this is called ‘sama dosha’.

Are YOU ‘Out of Balance’???

Because the doshas govern ‘everything’ in the universe, everything you do, affects the balance of doshas within your mind & body.

For example, due to particular weather/seasonal influences, lifestyle, foods, relationships, you may create too much or too little of one or more doshas in your body-mind. Such imbalance is called ‘Vikriti’.

Although anyone can develop any doshic imbalance, individuals with naturally strong vata tendencies are more prone to vata imbalances, those with naturally strong kapha tendencies are more prone to kapha imbalances.

How Vata Gets Out of Balance (Excessive):

Vata is increased/aggravated by ‘too much’

  • cold – food, drinks, weather
  • dryness – windy weather, dry (non oily) food
  • change – irregular mealtimes, variable routine, changing seasons
  • stimulation – computers, action movies, intense exercise … coffee!!!

Signs Your Vata Is Out of Balance (Excessive):

  • you feel anxious/worried
  • you find it hard to make up your mind…and change it often
  • you forget things regularly (“where did I leave my car keys”)
  • your skin/hair gets dry…as do your bowels (possibly making you constipated)
  • you find it hard to ‘settle down’, to sleep well & you want to ‘move’ constantly (as may people near you as you are more prone to ‘wind’!!!)
  • your digestion/appetite, mood & energy levels fluctuate throughout the day
  • you feel the cold, get tired easily just wish life could ‘slow down’

Common Diseases/Health Problems Related to Excess Vata:

  • Arthritis/Cracking Joints, Nervous Conditions, Insomnia, Chronic Fatigue, Restless Legs, Cancer (all doshas can be involved here), Constipation, Asthma.

How Pitta Gets Out of Balance (Excessive):

Pitta is increased/aggravated through

  • too much hot/spicy food
  • a lot of sour or salty food
  • hot weather
  • too much ‘intensity/seriousness’
  • not enough fun/play/relaxation

Signs Your Pitta Is Out of Balance (Excessive):

  • you feel angry, irritable and impatient – ‘hot under the collar’
  • you are over-competitive/ over-critical (usually of others!)
  • you are too serious (people say “you need to ‘chill out”)
  • you are really uncomfortable in hot weather

Common Diseases/Health Problems Related to Excess Pitta:

  • Heart Disease (Type A Heart Attacks), Excess Anger/Aggression, Skin Conditions (Eczema, Psoriasis), Liver Disease/Cirrhosis, Eye Problems (sensitive eyes, needing glasses etc), Diarrhea, Acid Stomach/Reflux/Ulcers.

How Kapha Gets Out of Balance (Excessive):

Kapha is increased/aggravated by

  • ‘too much’ cold – food, drinks, weather
  • heaviness – excessive heavy or oily foods (or too much food in general)
  • insufficient activity/exercise
  • damp weather
  • not enough variety/change/stimulation

Signs Your Kapha Is Out of Balance (Excessive):

  • you feel lethargic, depressed and lazy
  • you have gained Weight and generally feel ‘heavy’
  • your digestion is sluggish…you feel’ ‘stuck’
  • you may feel congested and resistant to change

Common Diseases/Health Problems Related to Excess Kapha:

  • Obesity, Type 2 Diabetes, Fluid Retention/Excessive Mucous, Depression, Lethargy (Couch Potato Syndrome!), Joint Problems, Congestion/Sinus Problems/Coughs & Colds, Allergies.

Okay, I’m Out of Balance…How Do I Fix It?

Balancing Vata:

If your Vata is out of balance, you need to adjust your diet and lifestyle etc to bring in the opposite qualities of Vata.

E.g. increase,

Rest – get to bed early & get plenty of rest generally
Good Routine – regular daily routine – sleep & mealtimes
Warmth – keeping your body warm, warm food & drinks
Oil – unctuous diet (non-dry), warm oil body massages
Sweetness – more sweet foods/relationships (Vata’s love touch/hugs)
Slowness – go for more relaxed/calming activities/exercise
– e.g meditation, gentle yoga, quiet time, cat naps…

Vata is also balanced by avoiding exposure to wind and cold, listening to relaxing, soothing music, and generally ‘slowing down’.

Balancing Pitta:

If your Pitta is out of balance, you need to adjust your diet and lifestyle to bring in the opposite qualities of Pitta.

E.g. increase,

Coolness – cool foods/drinks/climate (avoid hot sun), water activities – swimming
Fun/Leisure – take regular breaks from ‘work’ & have more ‘fun-time’
Natural Beauty – spend time looking at trees, moonlight, tranquil water
Sweet & Bitter Foods…and reduce ‘hot’ (spicy), salty and sour foods
Pitta is also balanced by reducing/avoiding ‘impure substances’ (alcohol, cigarettes) and generally ‘chilling out’ more.

Balancing Kapha:

If your Kapha is out of balance, you need to adjust your diet and lifestyle to bring in the opposite qualities of Kapha.

E.g. increase,

Lighter Diet – i.e. reduce heavy/sweet foods/drinks
Variety – keep diet, exercise, work varied
Stimulation – e.g go for ‘spicier’ food, more vigorous exercise
Warmth – keep your warm body, have warm food/drinks
Dryness – e.g. less oil in diet, ‘dry’ (silk glove) body massages
Activity Generally – lots of regular exercise
Kapha is also balanced by avoiding cold, damp environments and generally ‘spicing things up’.

Notes:

1. Many modern-day Ayurvedic books equate the doshas with the ‘humours’ of the body. This is a very gross understanding of the doshas.

The doshas are far more fundamental than the humours (or anything ‘physical’). They are literally the ‘intelligence’ that underlies all the structure and function in the universe. You can’t literally see or touch the doshas…though you can see their expressions.
